Lazio is a region located in the center west side of Italy where its coast opens up on the Tyrrhenian Sea. The region is crossed by the Tevere River and is characterized by a territory that is rich of hills and mountains.
The urban area allows the visitors to explore the landscapes and extremely beautiful places, inside and outside the city area. An example is the “Villa Borghese” in Rome, the most famous park for a beautiful relaxing stroll.
Lazio is also renewed for Thermal baths. The history behind thermal baths is linked to the several springs of curative water that were largely developed during the Roman Era. Cities like Tivoli, Roma e Fiuggi, in fact, are locations where the care of your body is a lifestyle. Moreover, in Tivoli is possible to find Villas that have been added as Humanity Patrimony by the UNESCO.
If you love the beach, you are in the right place! The region, in fact, offers a large number of options amongst Gaeta, Sabaudia, San Felice Circeo, Spelonga and more. Lakes like Bracciano, Bolsena, Nemi o Albano are also good alternatives to a beach day. Finally the islands where you can enjoy some relaxing time: Isole Pontine, Ponza, Ventotene, Palmarola. If you are not a beach person you can always enjoy a good ski day on the mountains of Terminillo, Livata and Campo Staffi.
